As of today, 2,401 new confirmed cases of infection have been identified in the last 24 hours, Aleksandre Khojevanishvili, head of the Task Force operating under the Interagency Coordination Council stated at a briefing at the Administration of the Government.
He discussed the latest statistics on the coronavirus, as well as the measures implemented by the government in the last 24 hours.
“As of today, 2,401 new confirmed cases of infection have been identified in the last 24 hours. A total of 49,218 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been detected in the country since the first case of infection.
We are maintaining a positive dynamic in terms of the increase of the number of recoveries as of today as well. Namely, 2,289 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, and the total number of recoveries has increased to 33,459.
Unfortunately, 20 people have died in the last 24 hours, including 10 in Tbilisi, 2 in Adjara, 7 in Imereti, and 1 in Mtskheta-Mtianeti. A total of 401 people have died since 26 February 2020.
The geographic breakdown of the 2,401 cases of infection that were detected today is as follows: 976 in Tbilisi, 328 in Adjara, 368 in Imereti, 61 in Kvemo Kartli, 135 in Shida Kartli, 62 in Guria, 280 in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, 70 in Kakheti, 31 in Mtskheta-Mtianeti, 55 in Samtskhe-Javakheti, and 35 in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti.
At this stage, the number of active cases of infection stands at 15,332. 4,489 people are being treated in hospitals, including 2,198 people in the hospitals of Tbilisi, and 723 in Adjara. 638 patients are in a serious condition, including 316 people in Tbilisi and 100 in Adjara. Of them, 293 people are on ventilators, including 150 people in Tbilisi and 94 in Adjara. 2,446 people are being treated at COVID hotels, including 1,127 people in Adjara and 822 in Tbilisi. 8,397 people are receiving treatment at home.
3,160 people are in quarantine, including 682 people in Tbilisi and 1,426 in Adjara.
A total of 12,110 people have been transferred from the border between 6 October and 4 November.
As of today, 28,690 people are in self-isolation, of whom 2,819 people are located in Tbilisi, 11,423 in Adjara, and 4,177 in Imereti,” Aleksandre Khojevanishvili stated.
