We have 1194 confirmed cases within the last 24 hours, while 328 infected individuals recovered

As of today, we have 1 194 new confirmed cases within the last 24 hours, while 19 857 individuals are infected nation-wide in total. Out of them 328 individuals have recovered within the last 24 hours, while the total number of recoveries has reached 8 666 in Georgia. It was announced by Berdia Sichinava, Deputy Head of the Task Force operating at the Inter-Agency Coordination Council at a press briefing held after the Inter-Agency Coordination Council Meeting at the Government Administration today.

Berdia Sichinava spoke about the most updated statistics on COVID-19 and measures implemented by the Government of Georgia within the last 24 hours.

“As of today, we have 1 194 new confirmed cases within the last 24 hours, while 19 857 individuals are infected nation-wide in total. Out of them 328 individuals have recovered within the last 24 hours, while the total number of recoveries has reached 8 666 in Georgia. Unfortunately, 15 infected individuals died within the last 24 hours in the country, while the total mortality rate has amounted to 158 in the country. Out of them 7 died in Tbilisi, 4 – in Batumi, 2 – in Kutaisi, 1 – in Gori and 1 – in Mtskheta.

As of today, out of 1 194 cases 425 are confirmed in Tbilisi, 193 – in Adjara, 372 – in Imereti, 21 – in Guria, 27 – in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, 53 – in Kvemo Kartli, 64 – in Shida Kartli, 18 – in Mtskheta-Mtianeti, 3 – in Kakheti, 9 – in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti, 9 – in Samtskhe-Javakheti.

At present – as of 00:00 of October 19, 2020 – current active infected cases are 10 182. Out of them 2 817 patients are treated at hospitals, out of which 1 383 are at healthcare facilities of Tbilisi and 588 – at healthcare facilities of Adjara.

Acute condition has been observed in the case of 341 patients. Out of them 172 are treated in Tbilisi and 69 – in Adjara. Out of them lung ventilators are used currently for 75 patients, out of which 49 are hospitalised in Tbilisi and 10 – in Adjara.

1 672 infected people are stationed at COVID Hotels, out of which 1 079 are based in Adjara and 449 – in Tbilisi. 5 670 infected individuals are taking medication at home.

We currently have almost 4 726 individuals in the quarantine spaces, out of which 1 005 are located in Tbilisi and 2 337 – in Adjara.

In total 6 356 individuals have been flown from overseas in the period of October 6-19, 2020.

As of today, 21 962 individuals are kept in self-isolation, out of which 3 798 are based in Tbilisi, 8 821 – in Adjara and 3 369 – in Imereti.

These are the statistical data, which reflect the current epidemic situation in the country, which we are consistently sharing with the general public on a daily basis” noted Berdia Sichinava.
